Extremist Threaten Famous Journalist, Dapo Adeseko Over His Stand On Protection Of The Fundamental Human Rights Of LGBTQ Community
Famous journalist and human rights activist Dapo Adeseko has faced threats from religious extremists in Nigeria particularly in the South West Nigeria, due to his advocacy for the fundamental human rights of LGBTQ individuals in Nigeria and Africa.
Infact the threat was so obvious to the extent that he has to cancelled an enlightenment campaign recently because of attack on his campaign train in Ogun state Nigeria, where he was molested and dehumanized by some sect of extremists. Many of whom had threatened to eliminate him and his family because of his support for the LGBTQ community.
Despite the danger, Dapo continues to advocate for respect and protection of their rights.
Due to various threats to his life and the life of his immediate family, Dapo has taken a proactive step to continue educating and informing the general public on the need to allow their voices to be held and also accord the due respect.
In one of his campaigns, Dapo said discrimination and violence against LGBTI people should stop, name-calling, bullying, harassment, and gender-based violence, to being denied a job or appropriate healthcare should also be revolted against.
Dapo believes LGBTQ have a fundamental aspect of human rights, and the struggle for equality and recognition should continues in Nigeria and Africa. By advocating for legal protections and promoting social inclusion
He said protecting himself and his family will yield more positive results if someone stand in the middle to ensure there right is given.
Dapo however appeals to the international community to join him in educating the people why the right of people in this category should be HONOURED citing the protection of LGBTQ rights in advanced countries.
Dapo’s activism focuses on promoting inclusivity and respect for human rights, despite cultural and religious differences.
His efforts have been met with hostility, forcing him to look for alternatives to Protect protection himself
