PDP ARMING BANDITS, THUGS TO DISRUPT RERUN ELECTION IN ZAMFARA

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has discovered grand plan by the ruling PDP in the state to use the draded armed bandits, the outlawed ‘yan sakai and their political thugs to disrupt tomorrow’s rerun bye-election election in Kaura Namoda South.

Credible information received by APC from PDP insiders revealed that having failed all measures to scuttle the bye-election right from the trying to change the date, the dismantling of their thugs by the police command in the state following complaints raised by the APC, the PDP resolved to use bandits that they have been harbouring in the state.

As a result we call on security agencies to deploy more personnel in the state ahead of the election as we have seen them arming their thugs and giving them uniforms used by the state government owned security outfit CPG.

Last Saturday while the bye-election was holding, the state deputy governor who is not even from Kaura Namoda local government, went round the polling units with his motorcade and additional security to harass and intimidate voters when they realised the PDP was losing.

Additionally, the governor’s CSO and ADC also led a team to harass and scare voters so that they could snatch ballot boxes and change the results apart from the use of thugs they sent to all the polling units.

With all these evil machinations, the APC still led by and with 1,626 votes with the exception of the five polling units with remaining 3,000 votes where rerun will hold tomorrow.

We have already reported and petitioned against the state government and PDP’s attempts to compromise election officials while trying to use government house security personnel instead of the ones to be deployed by state headquarters of the security agencies.

We know and appreciate the efforts of all the conventional security agencies in the state but we are still afraid of the lives and properties of innocent citizens with the involvement of armed bandits by the state government cum the PDP tomorrow.

We therefore urge for a strong synergy by all the security agencies to deploy a reasonable number of their men so that the election will be smooth.
