The Centre for Responsible Governance (CRG) has commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.) for its remarkable strides in curbing drug trafficking and strengthening Nigeria’s anti-narcotics framework through enhanced professionalism and operational efficiency.
In a statement issued by the Centre’s spokeswoman, Obande George, CRG praised the agency’s ongoing reforms aimed at upgrading the capacity of its personnel, improving enforcement strategies, and reinforcing discipline within its ranks. The Centre noted that these efforts have significantly boosted the agency’s effectiveness in intercepting illicit drug shipments and dismantling trafficking networks operating within and across Nigeria’s borders.
CRG further acknowledged that the renewed focus on training, institutional discipline, and modernization under Gen. Marwa’s leadership has restored public confidence in the NDLEA and positioned the agency as a critical pillar in safeguarding national security and protecting Nigerian youth from the dangers of substance abuse.
The Centre emphasized that sustained professionalism, transparency, and operational excellence within law enforcement institutions remain essential to winning the fight against drug trafficking and ensuring a safer society.
