CRG CONGRATULATES DAUDA LAWAL ON BACK-TO-BACK GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR HONOURS
The (CRG) has congratulated the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, , on his back-to-back recognition as Governor of the Year at the Awards and the Awards.
CRG noted that these recognitions reflect growing national acknowledgment of deliberate governance reforms and measurable progress in Zamfara State, particularly in fiscal discipline, institutional rebuilding, and strengthened public-sector accountability.
According to CRG Spokesman, George Obande, public office must be measured by outcomes, not rhetoric. He stated that the Governor’s recognition by independent national platforms aligns with observable efforts to stabilise governance structures and restore public confidence in Zamfara.
Despite longstanding security and economic challenges, CRG observed that the administration’s focus on rebuilding institutions and restoring fiscal credibility is gradually repositioning the state within national governance conversations. The Centre emphasised that such recognition should serve as motivation to deepen reforms, institutionalise transparency, strengthen security collaboration, and sustain citizen engagement.
CRG reiterated that while awards mark important milestones, lasting reform remains the ultimate goal. In a national climate where citizens increasingly demand accountability and measurable results, the recognition of Governor Lawal reinforces the importance of performance-driven leadership.
The Centre further affirmed that public commendation, like constructive criticism, is essential to strengthening democratic governance and promoting responsible leadership across Nigeria.
