No matter the level of one’s commitment in life, spiritual power ultimately determines how far a person can go, especially in times of prosperity. According to the Generational Prophet of God and Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Global, Christopher Okafor, the moment a believer gives up in the face of opposition is the moment the enemy claims victory.
Dr. Okafor made this statement during the midweek Prophecy, Healing, Deliverance and Solutions Service (PHDS) held at the international headquarters of Grace Nation Worldwide in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, Nigeria.
Understanding “The Patterns and the Enemies”
Speaking in a teaching series titled “The Patterns and the Enemies,” the cleric explained that adversaries rarely focus on the weakest point. Instead, they often target the “arrowhead”—the person carrying influence or purpose—because once the head is attacked, the rest of the structure becomes vulnerable.
However, he emphasized that believers must refuse to allow themselves to become testing grounds for the enemy’s schemes.
“When you allow the devil to manipulate you,” he said, “it limits your inheritance and destiny. But when you resist, you weaken the enemy and win the battle.”
The Spirit of Jericho
Dr. Okafor also warned about what he described as the “spirit of Jericho,” which he said causes individuals to fight or oppose others without clear reason.
According to him, this spirit can provoke unnecessary conflicts, accusations, or hostility.
“When you see people attacking others without cause, it often reflects all deeper spiritual influence at work,” he said.
Despite such opposition, the preacher encouraged believers not to be discouraged. Instead, they should remain grounded in the covenant principles of God.
“You don’t always need to ask why people fight or blackmail you,” he explained. “Sometimes the battles come because of what you carry—your calling, your grace, or your destiny.”
Confronting Spiritual Opposition
According to Dr. Okafor, the most effective way to confront negative spiritual influences is through fervent and strategic prayer. Prayer, he said, activates divine intervention and dismantles destructive patterns.
“When you deploy prayer as a strategy,” he stated, “every spirit of opposition will bow, and every negative pattern standing in your family will be broken.”
The Power of a Prayerful Life
