Hon. Sani Mohammed Sha’aban’s career reflects his commitment to business growth and development, both in Nigeria and internationally. He started his career as a clerk at Union Bank in 1977 and later worked as a sales accountant at the Nigerian Mining Corporation in 1978. His educational background laid a strong foundation for his achievements. Starting at Nurul-Huda L.E.A Primary School in Zaria, he earned his first School Leaving Certificate in 1973. His secondary education at Government Commercial College in Zaria concluded in 1978, after which he pursued a Diploma in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in 1980. Sha’aban then attended South-West London College and the London School of Accountancy, obtaining his credentials from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) with a focus on Financial Accounting. Sha’aban’s career spans over 35 years, with his ventures and leadership spanning multiple sectors. He holds directorial positions with several international companies, linking Europe and Asia with Nigerian markets. His business interests are anchored by the Tulip Group, a conglomerate comprising companies in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and construction. Among these, Shenshui Oil & Gas Limited stands out as a key player in Nigeria’s energy sector, while Shenshui Construction Company, a joint venture with Chinese firm Zhegiag Zongxin Construction Group, undertakes significant civil engineering projects within the country. From water treatment to road and dam construction, Shenshui’s projects serve both government and private clients.
The Tulip Group includes various subsidiaries that have become recognizable names in Nigeria. Ocean Link, for example, is a fully Nigerian-owned shipping company that supports domestic and international logistics. Additionally, Tulip Bakery and Confectionery has established itself as a prominent fast-food and bakery chain with fifteen outlets nationwide.
