In order to fast track the completion of an ongoing work of the State University Teaching Hospital, the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on Friday visited the hospital site to assess work level.

The State University work which began in November last year, the Governor said is to enable the state owned University start course in medicine and other allied subjects.

Besides been used for academic activities, the Governor explained that the hospital will provide affordable and quality healthcare services to the people of Borno in line with the administration's health development programs.

The Governor commended the contractors for making quality work within considerable time.

"I am very impressed with the level and quality of work here, your performance is indeed wonderful. We will ensure requred funds are released for the other components to start immediately. I want all the works to progress at the same phase."

"While the construction work is ongoing, we shall fast track the procurement of the medical facilities and insha Allah we hope to commission the hospital late next year."Zulum said.

The minister of health, Osagie Ehanire performed the foundation stone laying of the hospital located at Maiduguri-Damaturu road near the main University campus.

Conducting the Governor round, the overseeing Engineer, Engr. Usman Tijjani Monguno explained that, General Out-patient Department (GOPD) which renders primary medical care, patients are seen, investigated, treated and those requiring specialist care referred to specialist consultant clinical is at 80% completion level.

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum on Thursday visited two hospitals in Maiduguri to monitor implementation of the ongoing health sector reforms he ordered, to address challenges across the State.

The Governor was at Maryam Abacha Maternal Hospital where he ordered construction of permanent quarters for doctors and other health workers.

Zulum also ordered the recruitment of 20 nurses, midwives and other health workers to bridge manpower gap at Maryam Abacha Maternal Hospital.

The Governor was also at Gwange Maternity Health centre where he ordered the installation of a solar power system to increase access to stable power supply.

For both health centres, Zulum directed the State's Ministry of Health to roll out modalities for the procurement of additional maternal drugs and consumables towards increased support for pregnant women under a free maternal healthcare service.

Meanwhile, Zulum’s latest approval of doctors' quarters is not the first intervention on the housing needs of health workers. Last year, 2020, the Governor approved the ongoing construction of new doctors' quarters, located opposite Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital, which is now at completion levels.

Similarly, latest approval for the employment of nurses is also not the first. In September last year, 2020, Governor Zulum approved the recruitment of 549 medical doctors, nurses and other health workers, after previous directive for recruitment of 19 doctors and 150 nurses in July of same last year.  In January this year, 2021, Zulum approved another set of 40 medical doctors.

The Zulum administration has since 2019, established 74 primary healthcare centre across the State and ordered rehabilitation of several General hospitals, and upgraded the status of General hospitals in Monguno and Biu to specialist hospitals.

Zulum also approved the ongoing construction of a teaching hospital to prepare the Borno State University to offer degrees in medicine and other health programmes through a medical college also approved by the Governor for the State University.

Few weeks ago, Revd. Esther Ajayi commissioned a magnificent Cathedral to the glory of God and Promotion of her spiritual calling under the Cherubim and Seraphim movement tagged Love of Christ Generation Church (LOC) at Island, Lagos State.

The ground opening ceremony, Love of Christ Generation Church (LOC) was well attended by selected and highly respected personalities from far and near amongst whom are Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Former Governor Gbenga Daniel, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Ogunnusi, Rochas Okorocha, Abdulrosheed Adewale, Oluwo of Iwoland just to mentioned but few.

Revd Esther Ajayi who has a track record of working towards the unification of all white garment churches as well as rebranding the image of Cherubim and Seraphim movements worldwide coupled with philanthropist gesture across all Churches was attacked and condemned online by some Prophets of the C&S Movement for allowing some personalities at the ceremony mount the Sacred Altar without shoes on, knowing fully well that its against the frontline body of Christ which has been in existence for years.

Prophet Olorunfemi Ejide, Spiritual Head and General Overseer of Ogo Sioni Aladura C&S Church Worldwide came with heavy criticism against Revd. Esther Ajayi for such actions and worst still her defence of anointing the Church thereafter or inability to control the self claimed Ten Thousand crowd.

A renowned Televangelist, Prophet Ejide who was well known for constructive criticism when it comes to C&S movements issues on Yotomi Television own by the late movie icon Alade Aromire, Multi Channel Cable Television (MCTV) and Murhi International Television (MITV) years back maintained that no individual or group of people is above the C&S movement's Ethics and way of worship.

According to him "Daddy Enoch Adeboye is also a product of Cherubim and Seraphim, though I'm not casting blame on him but himself and wife are too close to Revd. Esther Ajayi during the ceremony that makes it difficult to be noticed even before mounting the Altar, she could've easily whispered into Daddy Adeboye's ear or send someone to him. You can hardly experience such an explainable mistake or rather deliberate act to satisfy self at Redeemed Camp or Mosque, no matter your status or position respect to God is above all. I expects a genuine plea and sign of being remorseful to the entire body C&S Movement from Revd. Esther Ajayi rather than proudly trying to manoeuvre or change the doctrine and Ethics of the highly respected movement. If it goes unattended to, then C&S Church leaders that are silent for God knows why  will someday hear an invited guest to their church advice them to sanctify the Church after the Service because they can't remove their shoes or rather after their alcohol intake.Other C&S members and myself are not out just to condemn or criticise Revd. Esther Ajayi as thought by many and herself but we are saying the utmost truth and correct the wrongs.

I saw two separate video footages online with Baba Abiara and Olusegun Obasanjo at the Cathedral accompanied by Revd. Esther Ajayi, they both humbled themselves at the Altar by putting off their shoes, I pray that God Almighty should those respected personalities.

Finally, I will say, Money has blinded the eyes of most of the leadership at Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, I will not rest until every doctrines and actions against the Ethics and way of worship at C&S are addressed through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. "

As part of efforts to increase public access to food items in Maiduguri and other parts of Borno, the State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum is ready to pump money into the Maiduguri flour Mills to maximize the company’s full production capacity of semovita and other food products.

Zulum visited the Mills in Maiduguri on Wednesday, during which he inspected production facilities and met with management of the company.

The Maiduguri flour mill is jointly owned by the Federal Government’s Chad Basin Development Authority, Governments of Borno and Yobe States, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, Apapa and New Nigeria Development Company.

Zulum said when the flour mills is able to operate on its full capacity, it will greatly contribute to increase in the availability of current flow of food stuffs in markets.

"Where feasible, you (the management) should please contact Lagos flour mill and let us see how we can work together. I am aware that this company was already operating, but the most important thing is to see how we can derive maximum benefit from this company. I am ever ready to approve funds even though the company is now driven by about five shareholders including Borno State Government. Nevertheless, I don't mind putting more funding into the basket”

"However, my main concern is about output. What can we get after we inject funding, what will our people benefit? Let there be availability of quality Semovita and other food items in Borno markets, this I believe can even help in reducing the prices of food when people have access to more options, and there will be greater value addition to our economy” Zulum said.
