Jeremiah Ishola Declares winner of NBA Lagos Human Right Essay Competition

Jeremiah Ishola, am SSS 2 Student of Royalpath College, Onibudo, Akute, has been declared winner of the maiden edition of the Nigerian Bar Association (Lagos Branch)’s Human Rights Essay Competition (Category A) with his entry titled ” Why the Rule of Law Matters in Protecting the Rights of Every Child”.

The award presentation ceremony was held at the Agip Hall of the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, as part of a one-day International Human Rights Day Conference in celebration of the 77th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The theme of the Conference was “Corruption and Human Rights: The Hidden Cost of Bad Governance”.

In a congratulatory email by Mrs. Funke Loko Esq on behalf of the Editorial Committee of the 2025 Human Rights Essay Competition of NBA (Lagos Branch), the organisers noted that Jeremiah’s winning essay was “…insightful, creative, and hard work shone through…”.

The Competition had three Categories of A (SSS 1-3 Students), B (University/Nigerian Law School Students) and C (Young Lawyers with 1-7 Years’ Post Call Experience). Winners, 1st Runners Up and 2nd Runners Up were rewarded in each Category.
