Ordinary, I’m supposed to ignore this nonsense, but sometimes silence starts to look like consent, and that I will not allow. I just want to ask some people who loudly claim to love IFE and revere the OONI, yet have recently found comfort in massaging the ego of OYO and the Alaafin—how exactly do you feel about this new crest that boldly labels him as the “Paramount Ruler of the Yoruba Race”?

Because this is where pretence meets reality.

I know the Alaafin lives in his own bubble, the same carefully constructed delusion shared by his loyalists who spend their days abusing and cursing the OONI. That is their business, and frankly, beneath serious engagement. But what concerns me are the fence-sitters, the ones who want to play both sides and still claim moral clarity.

How do you reconcile this?

How do you kneel in reverence to the OONI and, in the same breath, endorse a narrative that seeks to reduce his historic and spiritual authority?

And to those who have suddenly developed the strange idea that they owe OYO an apology simply because they have consistently stood with ILE-IFE—what exactly are you apologizing for? For understanding history? For respecting origin? For refusing to dilute truth in the name of artificial balance?

Let it be said clearly, there is nothing noble about intellectual dishonesty.

You cannot claim loyalty to ILE-IFE and at the same time legitimize an agenda that thrives on undermining it. You cannot stand for the source and simultaneously empower a structure that constantly seeks to overshadow it.

Let no one deceive you—you can’t support ILE-IFE and support OYO. As long as the Alaafin continues to chase lordship over Yoruba land, he will always attempt to diminish the OONI, and his boys won’t stop at nothing.

This is not about rivalry. It is about consistency, conviction, and the courage to stand where history, culture, and truth firmly rest.
