WE WILL MAKE ANAMBRA THE YOUTH MILLIONAIRES’ HUB OF NIGERIA” — AMB. SIR JUDE EZENWAFOR UNVEILS ANAMBRA YOUTH MILLIONAIRES PROGRAMME (AYMP) By Chinedu Nsofor

In a historic and transformative move to tackle youth unemployment, reduce insecurity, and drive grassroots economic growth, Amb. Sir Jude Ezenwafor KSJI, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Anambra State, has unveiled the Anambra Youth Millionaires Programme (AYMP). The unveiling took place during a high-level meeting of the PDP State Working Committee, Local Government Chairmen, and their executives, held at the PDP Secretariat in Awka. This revolutionary initiative aims to position Anambra State as Nigeria’s leading hub for youth empowerment and wealth creation, one ward at a time.
Unveiling the Vision: AYMP is set to empower 32,600 youths across Anambra’s 326 political wards, providing ₦1 million each to support viable business ventures and entrepreneurial ideas. The programme will be executed in six strategic phases with a post-election scale-up plan. It merges economic empowerment with civic engagement, aiming to reduce youth unemployment by over 40% and promote structured grassroots mobilization.
Thunderous Endorsement and Party-wide Support
During the unveiling, Sir Jude presented the AYMP with passionate clarity. His announcement was met with a thunderous standing ovation, as PDP members took turns to praise the initiative and its far-reaching impact. In a unanimous show of confidence, the party stakeholders endorsed Sir Jude’s candidacy and called on Ndi Anambra to support him as the next Governor of Anambra State to enable the full implementation of the programme.
“We are not just running for the office of the Governor — we are running to raise 32,600 millionaires. We are not building followers — we are building leaders,” Sir Jude affirmed.
Notable PDP leaders in attendance included Barr. Francis Chukwudi Okeke (Deputy Governorship Candidate), Comrade Chidi Chidebe (State Chairman), Hon. Onunkwo Ebere (State Secretary), the State Woman Leader, the South East Publicity Secretary of the Party, and Chief Clems Ezika, SAN, among other distinguished stakeholders.
PDP Communiqué and Strategic Alignment
The unveiling coincided with the resolutions of the PDP State Executive Committee Meeting held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the same venue — the PDP State Secretariat, Awka. The Communiqué included key resolutions:
Commendation of the National Leadership for efforts to resolve national party issues.
Reaffirmation of Commitment to rebuilding and repositioning the PDP based on the founding vision of late Dr. Alex Ekwueme.
Call for Return of Aggrieved Members, including His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, urging all former PDP members to return home and contribute to the renewed vision.
Rejection of Unapproved Political Coalitions and a warning against anti-party activities.
Unanimous Endorsement of Sir Jude Ezenwafor and Barr. Francis Okeke as the party’s gubernatorial and deputy candidates for the November 8, 2025 election.
The party calls on Ndi Anambra to vote massively for the PDP come November 8, 2025, and urges INEC to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.
Nomination of Chief Clems Ezika, SAN as the National Ex-Officio representing Anambra State.
A Call to Mr. Peter Obi and Former PDP Members Speaking on his political journey, Sir Jude recalled:
“When I contested as the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Igbo leaders came to me and appealed that I step down for Mr. Peter Obi. In the spirit of unity, I did. They promised me their support and that of Mr. Peter in my future political. Today, I humbly call on Mr. Peter Obi to support me as I contest for Governor of Anambra State.”
The call for Mr. Obi’s support is in harmony with the party’s larger appeal for unity and reconciliation. The PDP emphasizes that alliances with ideologically incompatible formations are unproductive, and now is the time for everyone to come together under a common progressive vision.
Tackling Crime Through Economic Empowerment
AYMP also serves as a strategic response to insecurity. It targets youth groups vulnerable to involvement in kidnapping, cultism, political thuggery, and cybercrime, offering profitable alternatives through skill acquisition and business grants.
“No young man who is economically empowered will willingly carry a gun for a politician,” Sir Jude emphasized. “When you give people hope and income, you disarm crime at its roots.”
Research supports that initiatives like AYMP can reduce crime by up to 45%, especially in high-unemployment areas.
Training and Skill Acquisition Opportunities AYMP provides hands-on vocational training in high-demand fields, including:
ICT & Digital Marketing
Phone & Laptop Repairs
Solar Installation
Modern Agriculture
Cosmetology
