Zero Tolerance Begins As Bode Ojajuni Takes Command In Ogun

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has set a firm and uncompromising tone for his administration, declaring zero tolerance for misconduct as he addressed his maiden press briefing in Abeokuta.

Speaking at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Ojajuni said his leadership would be anchored on responsibility, accountability and an unflinching commitment to public trust.

He expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, for the confidence reposed in him, noting that the mandate to serve comes with a duty to uphold the highest standards of policing.

Ojajuni underscored the policy thrust of the current police leadership, stressing that citizens remain the ultimate authority the Force must answer to in all circumstances.

He warned that abuse of office, indiscipline, incivility, human rights violations and corruption would not be tolerated under his watch, describing the directives as non-negotiable.

Reaffirming discipline as the foundation of policing, the commissioner charged officers and men to embrace professionalism, respect for human dignity and strict adherence to the rule of law.

He urged the public to see the police as partners, calling for mutual respect and cooperation in the shared task of maintaining law and order across the state.

To strengthen accountability, Ojajuni announced a robust monitoring framework, with the Complaint Response Unit positioned as a primary channel for reporting misconduct through multiple digital platforms.

He added that the Gateway Shield App and the Command Control Room would operate round the clock to receive complaints, intelligence and real-time information from residents.

The commissioner further disclosed that internal oversight bodies, including the X-Squad and Police Monitoring Unit, would be reinforced to ensure discipline, warning that erring officers would find no refuge.

Ojajuni assured residents that security remains his top priority, promising proactive strategies and inclusive policing that would involve traditional rulers, community leaders, the media and other stakeholders.

He also pledged to prioritise the welfare of officers, urging them to rise to the challenge with renewed discipline and unity, as he vowed to sustain peace and guarantee safety across Ogun State.
