Businessman Accuses Lagos Agency of Demolishing “Unlimited Hotel” Without Consent
A businessman, Mr. Ademola Adunola, has accused another businessman, Mr. Paul DaCosta, of allegedly using a Lagos State government agency to demolish his property without his knowledge or consent.
The property, known as Unlimited Hotel, is located at No. 3 Oshin Street, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. According to Mr. Adunola, officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency carried out the demolition.
Mr. Adunola further alleged that police officers were present at the scene and were used to drive people away from the environment during the demolition process. He claimed that this prevented him and others from intervening or retrieving valuable property before the building was pulled down.
Describing the situation as unlawful and deeply unfair, Mr. Adunola stated that he was neither informed nor served any official notice prior to the demolition. He accused Mr. Paul DaCosta of acting in an unscrupulous, ruthless, and high-handed manner in connection with the incident.
Expressing shock and distress, Mr. Adunola questioned why the Lagos State Government would allow the destruction of his property without due process.
He has appealed to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to urgently intervene and investigate the matter.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from Mr. Paul DaCosta, the Lagos State Building Control Agency, or the police authorities regarding the allegations.
