Lagosians Commend Effectiveness of Lagos State Task Force Emergency Hotlines and Complaints Feedback Room

…Residents Enjoy Faster Access to Security Services as Crime Rate Drops
Residents across Lagos State have continued to commend the effectiveness of the Lagos State Task Force Emergency Hotlines and Public Complaints Control Room, an initiative introduced by the Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Task Force, Adetayo Akerele.
The initiative is already yielding positive results in the fight against crime and insecurity across the Lagos metropolis.
Through the dedicated emergency hotlines, Lagosians now have direct access to the Task Force to report suspicious activities, criminal incidents, or security concerns within their communities free of charge.
The emergency lines — 09137555111 and 09138555111 — operate 24 hours daily, with officers stationed at the control room on standby to ensure immediate response to distress calls and complaints from members of the public.
Recently, the media Partners (Society Herald)of the Lagos State Task Force went around parts of Lagos to sample public opinion on the effectiveness of the emergency hotlines in curbing crime and improving security response across the state.
Public Reactions
Emeka J. (Hotelier)
“In the hospitality business, the Task Force hotline has brought a huge relief to many of us. A few weeks ago, some men were fighting in front of our hotel and one of them threatened to bring a gun. Immediately, I contacted the Task Force through the emergency line.
Although the suspects fled before officers arrived, the response was swift and professional. The emergency hotline is truly working. I appeal to the Lagos State Government to continue supporting the Task Force so they can become even more effective.”
Romoke Michael (Resident, Fagba)
“The Task Force emergency lines are working very well. A few days ago, someone around my area called the hotline over a security issue involving some suspicious individuals. Within a short time, security operatives arrived and took control of the situation.
The lines are very effective and helpful.”
Mr. Timothy (Civil Servant, Alausa Ikeja)
“CSP Akerele is a well-trained and gallant police officer with strong security expertise.
When he introduced the special control room and emergency lines, I knew it was going to make a difference. Within just a few months, the initiative has recorded tremendous success.
A friend once advised me that whenever I notice any suspicious movement or potential crime, the first thing to do is contact the Nigeria Police through the Lagos State Task Force control room because they respond quickly and professionally.
The newly introduced emergency hotlines are clearly helping to reduce crime in Lagos State. Once the control room is alerted, those behind criminal acts can be tracked, arrested, and prosecuted according to the law.”
With these testimonies, there is little doubt that the Lagos State Task Force Emergency Hotlines are delivering the expected results in improving public safety and strengthening community policing in Lagos State.
Security experts continue to stress that law enforcement agencies cannot work alone.
Effective collaboration between residents and security agencies remains key to sustaining peace, safety, and order across communities.
