Am Ready to Serve My Constituents in Ifo Constituency II, Says Ogun Assembly Aspirant

Agnes Funsho Akinleye, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ogun State House of Assembly seat representing Ifo Constituency II, has said her decision to contest the 2027 election is driven by her commitment to serve the people and promote development in the constituency.
Akinleye said the primary responsibility of anyone elected into public office is to serve the people who entrusted them with their mandate and to work with colleagues to advance the development of the state and the country.
She explained that her aspiration to represent Ifo Constituency II was inspired by her desire to provide quality representation and improve the welfare of the people.
According to her, the experience she has acquired over the years has prepared her for the task, expressing confidence that the constituency would witness greater development if elected.
She noted that Ifo Constituency II is strategically located close to Lagos State and therefore deserves policies and infrastructure that will improve the living conditions of residents and stimulate economic growth.
Akinleye pledged to maintain regular contact with her constituents by providing periodic feedback on her activities and representation at the Ogun State House of Assembly.
She added that many communities in the constituency face various challenges, assuring residents that she would champion legislative initiatives and advocate practical solutions to address their concerns.
“I am contesting for the Ogun State House of Assembly under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, and I pray that God grants me the opportunity to serve my people faithfully and effectively as their representative,” she said.
“I assure the people of Ifo Constituency II that I will remain committed to bringing meaningful development and progress to the constituency.”
The NDC candidate said she has several programmes aimed at improving the lives of residents, particularly through initiatives that would tackle the socio-economic challenges confronting the constituency.
She also appealed to women and members of her party to mobilise support for her ahead of the election, promising not to disappoint them if elected.
Akinleye, however, acknowledged that the official campaign period had yet to commence, saying this was why she had not publicly outlined her manifesto in detail.
She expressed satisfaction with what she described as the growing popularity of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Ogun State and expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the 2027 general election.
According to her, the NDC is a people-oriented party that offers Nigerians an opportunity to bring about a change of government through the ballot in the next election.
