BOMBSHELL: Ajike Orin Shocks Fans, Dumps Spotlight for School in Bold Career Twist

Fans of fast-rising Islamic music sensation Rasheedat Agbaku, popularly known as Ajike Orin, have been left stunned after the singer made a dramatic and unexpected move—returning to school at the peak of her growing fame.
The Ikorodu-born star has secured admission into the National Open University of Nigeria to study Mass Communication, a decision insiders describe as “bold, risky, and game-changing.”
At a time when many artistes double down on fame, Ajike Orin is doing the exact opposite—choosing lectures over limelight and books over beats.
Why now? Why school?
Sources close to the singer reveal that she is determined to reinvent herself, sharpen her voice beyond music, and build a powerful brand that goes far beyond the stage.
But that’s only part of the story.
Despite juggling motherhood, business, and a buzzing music career, Ajike Orin has quietly built an empire—releasing hit songs like Rantimi, Gbatemimo, Igbayilola, and Oore Otun, while also producing over 100 jingles for clients both in Nigeria and abroad.
Now, she’s about to set the industry on fire again.
Her upcoming single Rotimi—already generating serious buzz—is expected to drop with a gripping music video featuring Nollywood stars Asabi Simple and Lagata, a move many believe could redefine her career.
Before her rise, she paid her dues as a lead backup singer for top Islamic music figures like Saoti Arewa and Basit Katibi—but today, she’s carving her own powerful path.
Add to that her booming fashion business in Ikorodu, and one question is now on everyone’s lips:
Is Ajike Orin about to become more than just a singer… or is this the beginning of a total rebrand?
Either way, one thing is clear—this move has changed the game, and all eyes are now on her next step.
