Club 99 Ipara Remo Donates 1,000 Exercise Books, Pledges School Support After Vandalism

In a move aimed at giving back to society and supporting education, Club 99 Ipara Remo has donated 1,000 exercise books to pupils in public primary schools across Ipara Remo, Ogun State.

The donation, which took place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, was led by the club’s president, Gbolahan Olakanmi Adetayo, as part of efforts to support pupils and encourage learning in the community.

The intervention also followed an incident at United Primary School, Ipara Remo, where hoodlums reportedly invaded the school premises some weeks ago, shortly after the resumption of the new academic session, and destroyed pupils’ writing materials.

The club’s delegation, comprising Gbolahan Adetayo, Isiak Hamzat, Idunu Awotunbo, Risikat Adeniran and Oketayo Abayomi, began the exercise at Local Government Primary School, Ipara Remo, where they distributed exercise books to the pupils.

Speaking during the visit, the school’s head teacher, Mrs Olayiwola, expressed appreciation to the club for remembering its roots and returning to its alma mater to identify with the school and support its pupils.

She subsequently led members of the delegation on a tour of the school premises, during which the club observed some pressing infrastructural needs requiring attention.

Among the identified challenges were the absence of adequate toilet facilities, the need for a pumping machine to restore the school’s water supply system, and shortages of chairs and tables. Some of the furniture had also reportedly been destroyed by hoodlums.

In response, Adetayo, speaking on behalf of the club, made pledges to support the school in addressing some of the identified challenges, assuring the management that the commitments would be implemented between now and April.

The delegation later proceeded to United Primary School, where the remaining exercise books were distributed to pupils. The teachers and pupils welcomed the visitors warmly and expressed happiness over the club’s intervention.

The initiative underscores Club 99 Ipara Remo’s commitment to educational development, community service and the welfare of younger generations.

By returning to the schools that helped shape its members, the association has demonstrated the importance of alumni involvement in improving educational standards and providing support for public institutions in their communities.
