Davido’s Outfit Rated Above What 99% Igbo Men Wear During Traditional Wedding

Top Igbo culture crusader and US based Software Engineer, Lotanna Odunze a.k.a Sugabelly, has rated Davido’s traditional wedding attire above what most Igbo men wear on their wedding day.

Reviewing what Davido wore and how he struggled to respond in Igbo language, Sugabelly wrote:

“First, so while I have a strong urge to scream WHAT IS HE WEARING, I’m actually going to rate Davido higher than 98% of Igbo men for this outfit. Why? Because although he should have gone full scale with the one shoulder wrapper draped around him (with a lot more fabric), and gotten rid of that white native suit he’s wearing underneath, Davido’s outfit is a lot closer to historically accurate male Igbo clothing, than what 98% of Igbo men wear on their wedding days. So semi-good job, Davido. Second, he struggled with a pretty basic sentence in Igbo “Gini bu afa gi?” – What is your name? He struggled with that and needed help to reply. Davido needs to brush up on his Igbo. Overall, not bad-ish.”
