Doris Ogala: Court Frowns at Another Absence, Vows to give Judgment without her by next Hearing

… Fixes October 28th for her Cyberstalking Trial

The case instituted against the self acclaimed Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, could not take place today as the representative of the actress cited another hospitalization following alleged collapse just days before the date of hearing on her cyberstalking case.

The Lagos Federal High Court was set to hear actress Doris Ogala’s case on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, regarding allegations of cyberstalking and bullying of a popular Lagos pastor, Prophet Chris Okafor, who is recognized for his easy-going nature; however, the proceedings were delayed due to her reported health issues

It is noted that this is the second occasion in which the actress missed her court appearance for arraignment on charges presented by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions of the Federation (DPPF)

This platform can officially inform the global community, including well-intentioned Nigerians and international observers, that Doris Ogala was notably absent on April 24, 2026, when the case initially appeared before Justice Akintayo Aluko, at that time the representing attorney, Temiloluwa Akindayoni, notified the court that she was undergoing a suspected fabricated surgery.

The excuse was mentioned during today’s hearing, by the prosecuting lawyer, who detailed the suspected Doris Ogala’s gameplay before Honorable Justice Aluko, with the aim to make the court to enforce her arraignment, while the Defence lawyer made a verbal undertaking promising of his client’s expected presence in court at the next hearing.

During the resumed hearing of the charge on Tuesday 9th June 2026 Barrister Tolulope Mokolu represented the DPPF, while Barrister N. C. Atulomah appeared for the defendants

When the matter was called for hearing, the defendant, Doris Ogala, was again not present a situation that is becoming a usual occurrence; but her lawyer subsequently notified the court that she was receiving treatment at a Federal Medical Center in Umuahia Abia state Nigeria, though the available medical report shows she has been discharged.

The counsel stated that two affidavits had been filed to substantiate his assertions, adding that the prosecution would not be disadvantaged by an adjournment of the matter for the last time

The lawyer assured the court that his client would be present on the next adjournment date and respectfully requested an adjournment, following what the law says, that only a living can stand trial

Barrister Mokolu, the prosecutor, responded by informing the court that, although he would reluctantly concede to the lawyer’s adjournment request, he wished to highlight the latter part of the defendant’s medical report, which indicated that the defendant had been discharged from the hospital and classified as an outpatient

The prosecution presented to the court that the defendant, claiming illness, was apparently robust enough to participate in campaign activities during her state’s party primary election, after which she won and evidence of her celebration was published on social media, but mysteriously became sick at the time of the court hearing.

“I am reluctantly acceding to the counsel’s plea for adjournment, in view of what I am seeing for the first time. If by the next adjourned date she is not in court, I will be asking for a bench warrant,” the prosecutor told the Honorable Court.”

Following a review of the two lawyers submissions, Honorable Justice Aluko adjourned the case to October 28, 2026, for the arraignment of the actress, reaffirming that it would be the final adjournment.

The 34-year-old fair-complexioned Ogala is facing charges under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act 2024 for allegedly publishing personal materials of the popular Lagos pastor without his consent after which formal complaint were lodged against her for spreading false information aimed at incriminating an innocent man of God, alongside engaging in cyberbullying, harassment, and attempted extortion, which is punishable under the law if found guilty

The charges brought against the actress as seen on the charge sheet are as follows: “That Doris Ogala, a 34-year-old female, between September 2024 and March 2026, within the court’s jurisdiction, knowingly published nude and intimate photographs of an innocent clergyman on her social media account without his consent. These actions were known to have cause annoyance, embarrassment, emotional distress, and injury to his reputation. The images were subsequently disseminated across various social media platforms, contravening Section 24(1)(a) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.”

That Doris Ogala (Female, 34 years), between September 2024 and March 2026, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did wilfully and knowingly dispatch messages and publish images and video recordings through your Instagram account and other social media platforms, containing disparaging remarks concerning an easygoing man of God’s life and marriage, including allegations of rape against his own biological daughter, wife, engagement in ritual practices within the church, and responsibility for the death of another individual, which assertions you knew to be untrue and which were published with the intention of causing annoyance, insult, injury, or damage to the reputation of the said prophet of God, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 24(1)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.

That Doris Ogala, female, aged 34, are hereby accused of publishing and disseminating false information through computer systems and networks between September 2024 and March 2026, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, via several video recordings and electronic messages intended to bully, threaten, intimidate, and harass a prominent Lagos-based pastor, which electronic publications were subsequently circulated across multiple online blogs and social media platforms, thereby committing an offense contrary to Section 24(2)(A) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act, 2024

That Doris Ogala, a 34-year-old female, is accused of transmitting electronic communications and information through her social media accounts against a Lagos-based pastor between September 2024 and March 2026, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, with intent to extort property by threatening to publish menacing and intimate materials against the pastor unless he compensates her or buys her a house, contrary to Section 24(2)(c) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.”

The way it stands now, Doris Ogala will have to make herself available for the next hearing before the Honorable Justice A. Aluko with her valid evidence to substantiate her claim made against the clergyman.
