Hebrew Women’s Foundation’: How Rev. Lizzy Suleman Stands Out As Role Model for Women of Faith
Reverend (Dr.) Lizzy Johnson Suleman, the wife of Apostle Johnson Suleman [OFM], is making a huge difference in the lives of people around the world. She is the founder of the Hebrew Women Foundation, a charity group that helps poor women and children. Through her charity activities, leadership, and strong support for her husband, Reverend Lizzy has become a true example of what a good Christian woman should be.
The Hebrew Women Foundation started as a small prayer group. Today, it has become a global charity network with branches in Nigeria, other parts of Africa, the UK, Europe, and the US. The main goal of the Foundation is to show love and give hope to women who are going through hard times.
During church and community services, the Foundation regularly gives out massive gifts to widows, orphans, and poor people. Some of the major things the Foundation engages in is giving out cash gifts to widows so they can start their own small businesses, sharing thousands of bags of rice, yams, and food items to hungry families, paying school fees for poor children and giving them school bags and books, providing free Bibles, counseling, and a safe place to live for women who have no one else to care for them.
Affectionately referred to as ‘The Dynamic Mother’, Reverend Lizzy Suleman teaches women how to be hardworking, confident, and close to God, showing that a woman can be deeply spiritual while also being highly successful in business. Also, showing his deep love for helping others, Reverend Suleman has set up Dynamic British International School in Auchi, Edo State, to help children from different backgrounds with great education, using her personal resources to lift up the community and give young people a better future.
Besides her philanthropy that focuses primarily on empowering and remodeling women and children, Reverend Lizzy also co-authors with her husband a book, ‘Rhema for Living’, a widely read daily devotional guide. However, there is a book she solely wrote, ‘How to Ignite Your Husband’s Love’, which is a practical guide that helps Christian women and pastors’ wives worldwide build better marriages. Drawing from her own marriage and her experience as a co-pastor at Omega Fire Ministries, Reverend Suleman shows women how to change their relationships for the better.
The impact of the book includes teaching women how to respect their husband’s role as the leader of the home, and building deep trust in a marriage. Rev. Suleman explains in the book that a strong marriage needs deep trust, not just romantic feelings. The book tells how wives can build a strong bond with their husbands that can survive rumours, scandals, and outside problems. The book also focuses on balancing work and family by encouraging career women to be successful at work but to leave their business mindset outside the home. In essence, working women can switch from being professionals to being caring wives when they are with their husbands.
Also, Reverend Suleman adds the aspect of keeping romance alive. She asks the wife to reintroduce the playful dynamics from when she was dating her men; send a suggestive text during the day, use inside jokes, or give him a lingering look across a crowded room. Basically, instead of waiting for their husbands to make the first move, the book teaches women how to use wisdom, prayer, and affection to bring excitement back into their homes.
One of the most beautiful things about Reverend Lizzy Suleman is aligning her personal life with her teachings. She is a dutiful woman who balances her role as a wife with partnering closely with her husband, Apostle Johnson Suleman, to whom she has been married for many years, to manage hundreds of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) branches worldwide.
