LSSTF Donates Bulletproof Vests, Helmets to Strengthen Lagos Taskforce Operations

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated critical operational equipment, including bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets, to the Lagos State Taskforce as part of efforts to strengthen security operations and enhance public safety across the state.

The equipment was presented during a visit by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, alongside the Director of Administration, Adegbola Lewis, to the Taskforce headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos.

During the visit, the LSSTF delegation toured operational units and personnel dormitories of the agency to assess facilities and operational conditions.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the agency, Chairman of the Lagos Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for its continued support and strategic investment in security operations within the state.

Ogunsan said the donation aligned with the core mandate of the LSSTF to provide logistics, equipment and training support for security agencies operating in Lagos State.

He explained that the anti-riot equipment was intended to improve operational readiness and ensure effective management of protests, civil disturbances and other emergency situations, rather than for aggressive enforcement.

According to him, the objective is to equip security personnel with the tools needed to contain criminal activities and maintain public order, thereby ensuring the safety of residents across the state.

Akerele noted that the donation would significantly improve the operational efficiency, morale and safety of personnel carrying out enforcement duties in different parts of Lagos.

The LSSTF also extended similar support to the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) as part of broader efforts to strengthen security architecture in the state.
