OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN AND OGUN APC CHAIRMAN ; OGUN WEST APC SENATORIAL ASPIRATION 2027; WHY IT CAN’T BE SEN. GBOLAHAN DADA

The Political environment in Ogun State received a momentary calmness after the peaceful Consensus emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, a feat that has put Ogun State APC ahead of other States in the Democratic process towards 2027 Elections.

With the acceptance of Sen Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, Political Gladiators in Ogun West both the serious ones and the pretenders, who have not shown face in any Party activities since the consultation started, are now prowling around the residences of Elders and Political Leaders in the Party, including those who have not shown any commitment to the Party and its Members since 2023.

One of such is Sen Gbolahan Dada who in the last few days has been making underground moves with the intention to enter through the backdoor.

Before now, the two serious Aspirants from Ado-Odo Ota Federal Constituency have been Hon Waliu Olayiwola Taiwo, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Awori Land and Hon Jimoh Ojugbele, in actual fact, the supporters of the two have had Social Media entangling in the past, borne out of passion and interest they have in their Principals who are true Party Members.

Since about two years, the two, have been building bridges and meeting Party Leaders and Members canvassing for their support across the Senatorial District.
Of greater commitment is Hon Lai Taiwo who has put in a well packaged consultation visits to all the Local Governments with massive acceptance by both the Leaders, Members and Stakeholders, while articulating his achievements across the Senatorial District when he served as a Commissioner in the State.
Hon. Ojugbele on the other hand also did his best with his Ojuyayi Team moving around too.
The sudden appearance of Sen Gbolahan Dada is obviously a deliberate attempt to disrupt the Political atmosphere of the AOLG, and reap where he has not sowed, perhaps after realizing that Governorship Seat has gone to Yewa, but on the scale of fairness and justice there is no way Leaders and Party Members should listen to a strange face on the field now.

The following facts and not sentiments will validate My Open Letter, your Excellency;

i, Sen Dada was begged before he accepted to run for his first Term, saying he was not a Politician and he doesn’t want to be close to them, but for the sentiment of SIA, who wanted him because his was his benefactor. ACN almost lost the Election because of his unpopularity.

ii, He also told some Party members, that he was spending more than he was earning in the Senate, perhaps, reason why he never considered organizing Empowerments for his Senatorial District. The question is why the sudden interest in the Office that wasn’t profitable to him.

iii, During his last Opportunity in Red Chamber, there was no record of where he ever called a Meeting at Ogun West Senatorial Level, even if only to show appreciation to those who Elected him.

iv, In 2023, Sen Dada deliberately left the Country for Canada, six months ahead of the Elections, never for one Day participated in the Electioneering Campaigns, if he was in attendance at any Rally in Ogun West, he can Post it on Social Media verification to debunk this fact.

v, Since the beginning of Asiwaju’s Administration, he has never for once visited his Ward, after the Election, at least to appreciate and encourage Party Members, anyway, his nonchallant attitude was why his Ward 2 lost in the Elections.

vi, Unlike other Leaders who extend hands of Welfare and good gestures during Festivals to their Wards, and Party Members, he has no single one to his credit, what a Politician.

vii, Some young Members of our Party were locked because they were hailing him for some stipends, on more than two occasions, by Naval Officers and locked up at Navy School Ota.

viii, Apart from AOLG APC Apex Meeting where they intended to select Candidate for LG Chairman, which other Meetings was he attending, not OWUF, not in DANSO, not in YAYI, and not in the Ward Meetings, where is Distinguished Senator showing his Party Membership and Loyalty

ix, Records have it that on four occasions that Senator Dada has opportunity to nominate Candidate to fill position in Government, in all the occasions it was his Nephew Kamar Aina alone that he chose, an indication that he has no followers from where he can pick, it is well known fact in our AOLG.

x, A serious Aspirant to a higher position like the Senate by now should have his name on the lips of so many Members of the Party, across the Senatorial District, although we are aware that he’s looking for Appointment, there’s no problem, but he should go the right way and stop dragging AOLG Political movements backwards, we know those who are our Party Leaders, we know those we can relate with, we know the one that can protect our Interests.
He can wait till Elections period and show his commitment maybe his activities will sell him to the Party Leaders for consideration.
Your Excellency, you have done well by ensuring the emergence of generally acceptable Governorship Candidate for the Party in Ogun State, kindly avoid bringing someone who will not complement your achievements in the Polls.
Sir, kindly consult with the Leaders and Members of the Party which I am sure is a simple task, it will add prestige to your Political journey.

Please don’t allow entry through the backdoor, he can’t deliver at the Polls.
