The Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, on Saturday joined the governorship candidate of the party in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, to celebrate the ninth anniversary of the Association of Construction Equipment Stakeholders in Oyo State.
The event, which attracted stakeholders from the construction and engineering sectors, served as a platform to review the contributions of equipment operators and other professionals to infrastructure development and economic growth in the state.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, Ambassador Ajadi commended members of the association for sustaining their activities over the years and contributing immensely to the development of Oyo State through their services.
He noted that the construction sector remains one of the critical drivers of economic development, employment generation and urban transformation.
According to him, governments at all levels should create an enabling environment for construction businesses to thrive, stressing that the industry has the capacity to absorb thousands of youths and reduce unemployment.
“The construction sector is one of the pillars of development. Roads, bridges, housing projects and other infrastructure that improve the lives of our people are products of the commitment and sacrifices of professionals and equipment stakeholders,” Ajadi said.
He added: “I congratulate the Association of Construction Equipment Stakeholders on this remarkable ninth anniversary. Nine years of consistency and service deserve celebration. I encourage members to remain united and continue to maintain professionalism and integrity in their operations.”
Ajadi further urged governments and private investors to strengthen collaboration with operators in the sector to accelerate infrastructural development and economic prosperity.
Also present at the occasion were Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, who lauded the association for promoting cooperation among operators and contributing to the socio-economic growth of Oyo State.
