In a congratulatory message issued on October 27, 2026, Amanyanabo Dokubo-Asari described the milestone as a remarkable testament to two decades of dedicated royal service, spiritual leadership, cultural preservation, and commitment to peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence in Nigeria.
The traditional ruler, who conveyed his felicitations on behalf of his family, the people of Elem Kalabari, Torusarama Piri, and the entire Kalabari Kingdom, expressed profound joy and admiration for the Sultan’s contributions to the preservation of traditional institutions and the promotion of religious harmony and national cohesion.
He noted that the Sultan’s twenty years on the throne represented more than the passage of time, describing the milestone as a reflection of responsibility, sacrifice, wisdom, patience, and steadfast dedication to the Muslim Ummah and the Nigerian nation.
According to him, the Sultan’s leadership as the spiritual and traditional head of the Sultanate of Sokoto, alongside his role as President-General of the NSCIA, underscores the enduring relevance of traditional and religious institutions in providing moral guidance, safeguarding cultural heritage, and fostering mutual understanding among people of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds.
“A throne is not merely a symbol of authority or historical inheritance; it is a sacred trust, demanding justice, humility, compassion, courage and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people,” Amanyanabo Dokubo-Asari stated.
He added that the Sultan’s twenty-year reign constituted a significant milestone in the discharge of this sacred responsibility.
CALLS FOR PEACE, DIALOGUE AND NATIONAL COHESION
Reflecting on Nigeria’s prevailing challenges, including insecurity, social divisions, economic hardship, and the need for greater mutual understanding, Da Amakiri Tubo stressed that the wisdom and counsel of respected traditional rulers and religious leaders remained indispensable to the country’s peace and stability.
He urged the Sultan to sustain his exemplary commitment to peacebuilding, dialogue, religious tolerance, and national unity, noting that Nigeria needed leaders whose voices unite rather than divide, encourage dialogue rather than hostility, and inspire hope rather than despair.
He further called on the Sultan to continue using his revered position to guide younger generations, strengthen brotherhood among Muslims, and promote peaceful relations between adherents of different faiths and communities across the country.
AFFIRMS SOLIDARITY AMONG TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Amanyanabo Dokubo-Asari reaffirmed his solidarity and fraternal goodwill towards the Sultan, emphasizing that traditional institutions, despite their different cultural and geographical origins, share a common responsibility to uphold the dignity of their people, preserve their heritage, promote peace, and build enduring legacies for future generations.
He observed that the twentieth anniversary should not merely serve as a celebration of the years already spent on the throne, but also mark the beginning of an even more fruitful chapter of service, greater accomplishments, and enduring blessings for the Sultanate of Sokoto, the Muslim Ummah, and Nigeria.
Amanyanabo Dokubo-Asari prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to grant the Sultan sound health, renewed strength, wisdom, patience, and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
He also prayed for Allah’s continued protection over the Sultan and his family, the preservation of the rich heritage of the Sokoto Caliphate, stronger bonds of unity among traditional rulers, and lasting peace, justice, security, and prosperity for Nigeria.
PRAYERS FOR CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL REIGN
Concluding his message, Da Amakiri Tubo congratulated the Sultan on twenty remarkable years on the throne and expressed the hope that his reign would continue to inspire generations to come through honourable service, principled leadership, and enduring contributions to humanity.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the Sultan’s efforts as acts of worship, forgive his shortcomings, reward his sacrifices, and grant him many more years of fruitful service to the Sultanate of Sokoto, the Muslim Ummah, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Congratulations, Your Eminence, on twenty remarkable years on the throne. May Allah grant you many more years of honourable service, sound leadership and enduring impact, and may the legacy of your reign continue to inspire generations yet unborn.”
