Opinion : WALE ADEDAYO A LEGACY OF BETRAYAL, CONTRADICTIONS AND CONVENIENT LOYALTIES.
Mr Wale Adedayo My attention has just been drawn to your latest vituperation published earlier today. Unfortunately, I discovered that you blocked me immediately after our last exchange. That simply suggests that you cannot take even half of what you routinely dish out to others. That is neither courageous nor fair.
Sir, may I respectfully ask: what kind of life and legacy are you leaving behind for those coming after you?
You rose professionally to the level of an editor. You attained the influential position of Director of Organisation when the PDP was still a political party of considerable repute. From there, you were appointed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Unfortunately, however, your political and professional trajectory appears to have taken a downward turn. You eventually became a Local Government Chairman after repeatedly failing to realise your ambition of representing your people in the House of Representatives. Today, you have reduced yourself to the role of a town crier and court jester.
With due respect, sir, this is certainly not how progress in life should look. You need to reflect deeply on it.
You are fast becoming known as an unstable personality whose historical stock-in-trade is pulling down virtually every notable individual with whom you have had a working relationship, immediately the relationship turns sour or no longer serves your interests.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Buruji Kashamu, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Gani Adams and several others have all had a taste of what many now perceive as your hypocrisy and destructive pattern, even while you continue to parade yourself as a product of Afenifere.
Are you truly an Ìránṣẹ́ Èṣù, considering that you have repeatedly written that you believe in Èṣù more than anything else?
In your book, Microseconds Away from Death, there was hardly any derogatory expression you did not deploy against Otunba Gbenga Daniel. You even alleged that OGD originally hailed from Benin and claimed that a family house had to be created for him in Sagamu to enable him to claim Ogun State ancestry.
Today, you are back with Ladi Adebutu with the approval of the same OGD you once attacked; apparently just to make ends meet, while you now live like an Almajiri in Ijebu-Ife.
This is deeply pathetic.
This is the same Wale Adedayo who once dismissed the late Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye as a “paperweight politician” while serving OGD as Chief Press Secretary.
Those who know the circumstances surrounding your inglorious exit from the Daniel administration will also remember that you spent more than two weeks running daily advertorials through your then principal, viciously discrediting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is now the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Today, political convenience appears to have rewritten that history.
Indeed, pity must be extended to this unstable blackmailer and self-styled Ìránṣẹ́ Èṣù.
Please reflect and mend your ways, not merely for your own sake, but also for the sake of those of us who, before now, still retained some level of deference and respect for you.
With due respect, sir, you no longer possess the reputation, credibility or moral integrity required to contribute meaningfully to serious political conversations in Ogun State, let alone lead such conversations. You surrendered that moral right a long time ago through your repeated contradictions, broken relationships and politics of convenient loyalty.
To regain it, you may need to pass through political purgatory and experience several levels of moral and spiritual deliverance.
By the way, kindly unblock me, sir.
If you have the courage to dish it out, you should equally have the courage to receive it.
